Practice Leaders
We are actively recruiting new Practice Leaders. Practice Leaders share in the profit of the firm via our unique Virtual Equity Program. It is the perfect way to be a senior practitioner with a stake in a reputable firm without having to worry about managing the business and without having to pay huge sums of money to buy into someone else's practice. Lawyers
We engage lawyers with a range of experience levels to assist Practice Leaders in their practices. We like our lawyers to have a range of skills and experience. We do not think either lawyers or our clients benefit from a siloed approach. We have a comprehensive internal training program that exceeds our CPD obligations. Lawyers receive training and mentoring from some of the most experienced practitioners in Canberra, including experience as instructors at the ANU Legalworkshop and Course Conveners at the ANU College of Law.
Client Managers
Instead of personal assistants, the people who assist practitioners to run and manage their matters are called Client Managers. We have a Client Manager for each practice cell. They work with the Practice Leader to ensure work runs smoothly, administration procedures are met, and clients are properly looked after. The Client Manager is responsible for being across all files in a practice, regardless of which practitioner is undertaking the work. They are the client's continuous point of contact, especially since practitioners can be in court, at meetings or otherwise unavailable.
Paralegals/Law Students/Research Assistants
We engage 4th and 5th year law students to assist with research, para-legal work, and to attend various registries to file and collect documents. The work is on a casual basis to fit in with study timetables and exams. We offer this work to diligent students who we think may be good candidates for a career at Chamberlains when they graduate.
