Training Philosophy

Our training courses are about teaching our clients to fish for themselves, rely less on lawyers, and be more confident about their own abilities to protect their rights and guard their interests.

There is a suite of skills that good laywers use to fight the good fight on behalf of their clients that have application beyond just the law. They are not the traditional warm, fuzzy leadership skills of team building and group hugs. They are about protecting rights, avoiding fights and winning battles.

This is why we call them Executive Combat Skills.

Course Formats

All our courses are designed with busy professionals in mind. We start each course at 9.30am and finish before 3.30pm. This format allows those with family responsibilities to participate. It also allows busy professionals a little time before and after each workshop to manage daily workflows. Everybody wins.

Flexibility

Our courses can be mixed and matched to provide participants with the skills sets they desire. Attending all courses gives you the complete experience, but attending just one course will give you the insights you need to improve your performance.

Optional On-the-Job Mentoring

Each program is structured as a workshop with an optional mentoring package. We realise that it is unrealistic for people to gain new skills in just a day-long workshop. Equally, we know executives are busy and can't spend days and weeks in training.

Our solution is to use the day workshops to provide the key insights and principles involved in applying particular skills. Participants then have the option of purchasing one month of on-the-job mentoring by email and telephone regarding issues they are facing in their real work. This involves minimal downtime, but maximises the likelihood of improving skills.

Tailoring

Our courses can be tailored to individual workplaces.  This can happen at two levels. The first, organic level of tailoring is for participants to bring real-life examples to the workshops for use as the basis of the workshop exercises. We are experts who can apply the principles we teach to any example without the need for prior preparation.

The second, structured, level of tailoring is to replace the generic role plays and exercises used in the training with examples derived from the workplace. These would be agreed with you in advance. Such structured tailoring involves additional charges, but these can be off-set with program discounts for agreed volumes of participants.

Venue & Catering

All training takes place at our offices. Some free on-site parking is available for early arrivals and off-site paid parking is plentiful.

Each workshop has a tea and coffee break and a catered lunch.
